About the Campaign

On 23 March, 2022 Polish Migrants Organise for Change (POMOC) and partnering organisations kicked off a mass mobilisation campaign to engage Polish women voters ahead of the 5 May local elections in the UK. SheVotes / OnaGlosuje builds on its success from 2021, when the nonpartisan national campaign encouraged participation from 12,000 Polish and Eastern women and their families across nine cities. Like other EU citizens, Polish nationals have been able to vote in local UK elections – a reality that has changed due to Brexit. Still, a bilateral agreement between Poland and the UK allows Polish nationals to maintain their voting rights.
